City of Cedar Rapids looking for artists to facilitate community project

Cedar Rapids seeks artists for a public art project in Wellington Heights—apply by June 12 to be considered for this opportunity.

The City of Cedar Rapids and the city’s Public Art Commission are looking for independent artists and teams to help create workshops for a new art project in Wellington Heights. The project will include a sidewalk mural, an artistic curb extension mural, and bus shelter art. Artists are invited to submit their qualifications by the deadline of 4 p.m. Thursday, June 12. Send an email to s.schrader@cedar-rapids.org with 15th Street Art in the subject line. Applicants must include a cover letter, artist statement, community engagement plan, outlined budget, and up to 5 images of previous work. The project will bring a new look to the 15th Street SE area and promote community engagement.
