Skylar Mayberry-Mayes — candidate for Des Moines school board

Skylar Mayberry-Mayes, who has a doctorate in education, is running as a candidate for the Des Moines Public Schools’ Board of Directors in District 4. Mayberry-Mayes is currently vice chair on the Des Moines School Board, an adjunct instructor at the University of Northern Iowa and Executive Director of The Jacobson Institute at Grand View University. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University and Drake University. The candidate is also very involved in the community and has served as a board member for organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Oakridge Neighborhood, Des Moines Public Schools, UNI@DMACC advocacy council, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Iowa Department of Human Services and more.
