Sickle cell blood drive at I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa

Black Women 4 Healthy Living (BW4HL) will be hosting a blood drive to help those with sickle cell anemia. The organization is calling upon diverse donors in the Black community to participate by donating blood. The blood drive will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa. The event will be held in Clive. The organization is asking for diverse donors in the Black community. The event will be in collaboration with the American Red Cross, which offers donors an initial screening test regarding their sickle cell trait status. To donate at the I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa event, register by scanning the QR code or just walk in. To get an initial screening test for sickle cell, visit the Red Cross website to schedule an appointment and use code “BW4HL”.
