Kwanzaa celebration at the African American Museum of Iowa

Join the African American Museum of Iowa & W.I.N for a Kwanzaa celebration from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 28. Food and activities for all!

The African American Museum of Iowa and Women in NAACP (W.I.N) are collaborating to host a Kwanzaa celebration. The event will be from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the African American Museum of Iowa, 55 12th St SE in Cedar Rapids. The Kwanzaa celebration will include performances and activities for all ages. There will be food, local artisans, and learning opportunities available. The event plans to honor African American heritage and highlight the seven principles of Kwanzaa (Nguzo Saba) with a core focus on values such as unity, self-determination, and collective responsibility.
