Iowa artists receive grants through regional regranting program

Big Field Fund announces over $60,000 in grants to 11 Iowa artists and collectives, supporting innovative and collaborative art projects.

The Big Field Fund announced they are awarding $61,134 to 11 Iowa artists and collectives who live within 80 miles of Iowa City.

The Big Field Fund is a regional regranting program that receives support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Iowa City’s Public Space One. This year’s jury for the Big Field Fund included four artists and cultural workers — Jane Gilmor of Cedar Rapids, Jill Wells of Des Moines, Alea Adigweme (Providence, RI / Los Angeles, CA) and Connie Yu (Philadephia, PA).

The fund supports research/development and artist-led projects. The research/development grantees are J.A. Engman and Cheryl Weatherford, Thalassa Raasch, Hope Tucker, Lovar Davis Kidd and Tamsie Ringler. The project grantees are Revitalizadores de Papel — a collaboration with Narciso Meneses Elizalde and Colectivo Jäitsibi, Katherine Eid Wild, Elizabeth McTernan and the Meandering River Group, Nicholas Cladis, Philip Rabalais and Auden Lincoln-Vogel and Allison Rowe and Nancy Nowacek of Working Group.
