Workshop aims to improve relations between police and the community
A local Black law enforcement group will hold a workshop for individuals, teens and organizations on Saturday in Des Moines.
The Iowa chapter The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) will give the presentation, “The Law And Your Community” from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families in Des Moines. The presentation is a nationally recognized hands-on interactive training program for youth ages 13-18. The free event is designed to develop, strengthen and revitalize community and law enforcement relations. The event, for individuals, families and organizations, will cover the roles of citizens, law literacy and positive engagement with law enforcement.
NOBLE, which has nearly 60 chapters and represents over 3,000 members worldwide, represents chief executive officers and command level-level law enforcement officials from federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement agencies. NOBLE serves more than 60,000 youth through its programming, according to a press release.
