Grab a costume mask, slip on elegant attire or wear your Halloween costume, and prepare for an exciting night of gambling, music, food and dancing.
“We would like for you to step into a magical zone,” said organizer Kourtney Perry, owner of Privacy LLC, an event coordination, business consulting and rental equipment company, and Ladie Lex Scented Candles.
No cash will be exchanged for gambling during the Masquerade Casino Night Party, so bet away. Casino event staff will keep track of high stakes winners who will receive gift baskets for their wins, which were donated by more than two dozen business sponsors. Masquerade masks will also be available to purchase.
Perry, and fashion designer and stylist Toffara Newman, owner of TSaditty Designs Boutique, want attendees to relax, have fun and make new business connections.
“This is a space for everybody that has an inspiration to not only want to meet new people, but for those people that need to step out of their comfort zone and be involved in something out of the norm,” Perry said.
The party, open to patrons 21 and older, will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Northwest, 4800 Merle Hay Road. General admission tickets are $40. VIP tickets are $75 and include a separate Blackjack table, private cash bar and food buffet. The VIP cuisine includes jumbo shrimp cocktail, chicken wings, BBQ meatballs, turkey pinwheels, tortilla chips, fruit and dessert. Music will be provided by DJ Hollywood. Tickets are available at www.privacyllc.net or call Perry at 515-974-9160. Patrons can take professional photographs with different backdrops. The party also features a tarot card reader and 360 video booth. Alcohol will be served.

More than two dozen businesses have signed up as sponsors, and there's still time for more sponsors to join, Perry said.
“I think that is always fun to associate with people of like mind,” Newman said. “It’ll be a fun atmosphere.”
Newman, who creates clothing from “scratch” also sells clothing wholesale and runs an online shop. She plans to move into a studio at 3520 Beaver Ave. in November.
“I really like to rework clothes,” she said. “I like to style people for nights out, for big events and date nights. I’m also into fashion shows.”
Newman met Perry in 2019. They've participated in a few fashion shows together and plan to do more in 2023.
Perry began volunteering for other events in 2018. She worked with a mentor, began networking and started her own event business. When she noticed other small businesses needed help, she began creating logos, branding and marketing. That led to consulting and more.
When the coronavirus pandemic slowed in-person gatherings, Perry ordered a kit from Amazon. Now she is a wholesaler and has a new store, Ladie Lex Scented Candles, that recently opened at 3019 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines. The accomplishment has inspired Perry to aim even higher.
There’s still time to become a sponsor, Perry said. For more information, email email@example.com. Each sponsor provides one gift basket valued at $100 that will go to high stakes winners. Sponsor packages include a discounted $50 VIP ticket, a drink ticket, business name and logo on event advertisements, pre-event social media shout-out and mention during the event. Don’t have a business and want to become a sponsor? Donate $100 in exchange for a VIP ticket and name recognition.
Perry said business sponsors so far include:
Headliner sponsors: Iowa Urban Media. LadyLike Empowerment, Face Da Fashion
