This presentation will discuss how unique and often hidden histories, cultures, and landscape contexts can shape environmentally just and sustainable responses for climate-impacted communities. In particular, the Maroon Culture of Coastal Louisiana will be presented as an example. The presenter is Diane Jones Allen, MLA, D.Eng., FASLA, PLA, who is the Professor and Program Director of Landscape Architecture, College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs, at the University of Texas at Arlington.
