FEATURING OPENER RUTABAGA
Lily DeTaeye is a Des Moines, IA native with a foundation in alt rock, pop, and folk.
Her third studio album EVEN WITH MY EYES CLOSED is a nostalgic and biting entry into the world of dreamy pop where Lilith Fair etherealism meets barbed hooks that stick right in the jaw. DeTaeye is based in Brooklyn, NY and will be joined by students from Valley High School’s choir program for this special, one-night-only event.
Rutabaga is a queer-led Indie Rock band residing in Des Moines, Iowa. Formed out of a need for a reliable creative outlet between four tightly bonded musicians— Mia Prosperi (lead vocals/guitar), Max Green (bass), Izzy Marx (drums) & Taylor Raibikis (keys)— Rutabaga combines bright & energetic melodies with a dynamic rhythm section to create their very own “organically grown” sound. This style is adorned with lyrics that are informed by the band’s experience of being queer artists in the Midwest; ranging from joyously upbeat to grippingly somber.
