‘Black Women Walking’ performance in March in Cedar Rapids
Kevvin L. Taylor presents Black Women Walking in Cedar Rapids on Mar. 1-2, honoring Black women in history.
Kevvin L. Taylor, founder of Seek First Entertainment, is bringing his adaptation “Black Women Walking” to Iowa. The production is directed by Taylor and written by Karen F. Williams. Black Women Walking is a theatrical performance with an all-female cast that incorporates music, movement and monologues to bring the stories of Black women throughout American history to life.
There will be two opportunities to watch the performance, 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, and 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 2, at the Ballantyne Auditorium at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. The event is co-sponsored by Kirkwood Community College, The Academy for Scholastic and Personal Success, The Cedar Rapids Gazette and Seek First Entertainment.
