BCDI Iowa and Corinthian Baptist Church host film screening

BCDI Iowa & Corinthian Baptist host Counted Out screening & panel on Mar 14, 5:30-8:30 PM. Free event, RSVP recommended.

The Black Child Development Institute of Iowa (BCDI Iowa) collaborates with Corinthian Baptist Church to host a screening of the movie, Counted Out. Following the film presentation, author and podcaster Rachelle Chase will facilitate a panel discussion. The panelists are Rev. Dr. Johnathan Whitfield; Iowa State Legislator Rob Johnson; Greg Kehrier, board president of You Discover Math; Dwana Bradley, Des Moines Public Schools board member; Dr. Skylar Mayberry-Mayes, Des Moines Public Schools board member and Dr. Kimberly Wayne, founder and executive director of Jewels Academy. The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 14 at Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines. Free pizza included for attendees. The youth will get to play math games and receive a free toy. The adults in attendance will have the opportunity to win a gift card. The event is open to the public and free to attend. Seats are limited so reserving your spot is recommended. The film highlights the importance of math literacy and its impact.
