Cleah Phillips

Cleah Phillips is an undergraduate at Iowa State University, studying journalism and mass communication, women’s and gender studies and English. Originally from Davenport, IA, her aspirations at ISU led to the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication where she involves herself in Greenlee School’s student media leadership team, the IDEA committee, being a Greenlee ambassador and is now the founding president of Iowa State’s student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Cleah was also a 2025-26 co-editor-in-chief of TREND, Iowa State’s student-run fashion magazine. While prioritizing journalism, the arts and marginalized communities, she also spends her time volunteering for Raising Readers in Story County.
