Rayford, former local NAACP president, is running against eight other candidates for one of the three seats available for city council, according to Ballotpedia. During a run in 2021, Rayford landed in 4th place, and hopes that this time around, there will be a different outcome.

“I’m running because I believe in this city; in its neighborhoods, its people and its future.” Rayford said. “Every voice matters, and together we can build a Sioux City rooted inprogress, fairness and pride. My decision to run for city council stems from a deep commitment to the wellbeing of our community. Let’s do this together.”
